      <td valign="top"><p>The   Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is comprised of four   full-time and eight part-time faculty with a strong commitment to high   quality teaching, service, and applied scholarship. There are   approximately 160 students working toward one of five bachelor&rsquo;s   degrees: 1) Nutrition and Food - with concentrations in Food Service   Management and Nutrition and Health, 2)Dietetics, 3)Child and Adolescent   Development, 4)Fashion and Interiors - with concentrations in Fashion   Merchandising and Interior Design, and 5)Family and Consumer Sciences.</p>
<p>The   Department is seeking an individual with the ability to teach across   the curriculum. Candidates must have a master&rsquo;s degree in nutrition and   currently be a registered dietitian; a Ph.D. in a related nutrition   field is desirable. Additionally, interests in food service, women   nutrition, human nutrition, life cycle nutrition, and community   nutrition would complement the current strengths of the department. A   commitment to excellent teaching at the undergraduate level in a   Christian liberal arts context, and possessing a potential for high   quality scholarship and service are essential for a successful   candidate.</p></td>

  RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
  <li> 60% of FTE: Teaching </li>
  <li> Provide graduate instruction in courses relating to financial
    planning. Most students will be international (mostly Chinese.) Courses
    will enable them to sit for the comprehensive CFPTM Examination. The
    candidate will teach three courses per semester. Depending on the
    candidate, these will most likely be two graduate courses and one
    undergraduate course.</li>
  <li>Experience in spreadsheet applications and/or financial planning
    software is desired</li>
  <li>Ability to educate from theoretical/conceptual basis with
    international applications </li>
  <li>Advise and mentor graduate students in matters relative to their
    professional development and career placement</li>
  <li>40% of FTE: Service/Administration </li>
  <li> Provide vision and leadership for the applied graduate programs</li>
  <li>Manage external relations with a particular focus on internships</li>
  <li>Seek extramural support for the missions of the department</li>
  <li>Communicate importance of personal financial literacy and practice
    to our nation's economic decisions</li>
  <li>Work with industry partners to maintain relevance, facilitate
    departmental goals, and the placement of graduates</li>

<p>DEPARTMENT

  <li> The Personal Financial Planning program offers a B.S.HES in the
    emphases; Personal Financial Planning (CFP Board registered), Personal
    Financial Management Services, and Financial Counseling; a M.S. in Personal
    Financial Planning (CFP Board registered), a M.S. in Consumer and Family
    Economics; and a Ph.D. in Human Environmental Sciences with a concentration
    in Personal Financial Planning (CFP Board registered) The department is a
    member of the Great Plains IDEA consortium, allowing opportunities for
    distance education opportunities for both a CFP Board registered MS and a
    Certificate in Financial Planning. Other CFP Board registered undergraduate
    degree programs include cooperative programs with both the Departments of
    Finance and Agricultural Economics, a post-baccalaureate Personal Financial
    Planning certificate program and a joint MS/JD degree.<br />

  <li> The current undergraduate and graduate student enrollment is
    approximately 180 and 40, respectively. This program is expected to add
    40-50 additional MS students per calendar year.</li>
  <li>The Department is home to the Office for Financial Success, a
    financial counseling and education outreach center dedicated to improving
    the financial lives and outlooks of university students and local community

  <li> Current positions include four tenured/tenure-track resident
    professors, the Director of the Office for Financial Success, two teaching
    assistant professors, and an extension staff of three</li>
  <li>Future departmental growth depends on the applicant's success in
    growing in this position. Student credit hours for the department for fall
    2011 are 2,466, a 7% growth over fall 2010 with 165 undergraduate majors
    and, approximately, 15 in cooperative degree programs. Students pay a
    supplemental fee for all Human Environmental Sciences coursework, which
    results in revenue being earned directly by the department. Instruction is,
    thus, increasingly important and complements other efforts in grants and
    development</li>

    departments: Personal Financial Planning, Architectural Studies, Human
    Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, Human Development and Family Studies,

  The University of Akron is accepting  applications for a<strong> </strong>Tenure track position at the Associate or Assistant  Professor level in the School of Nutrition and Dietetics in the newly formed  College of Health Professions.</p>
<p>  We seek a research scholar with an  interdisciplinary approach and expertise in applied and translational research  in nutrition as it relates to wellness, prevention, chronic health conditions  or clinical nutrition.&nbsp; The successful candidate will have the ability to  collaborate across disciplines and institutions to assist in building the  technical, skill and funding base for a vibrant, collaborative research agenda  within the School of Nutrition and Dietetics.&nbsp; The successful candidate will  teach graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise graduate and undergraduate  research activities and be involved in ongoing grant activities. <p><b>  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b> (a) Doctorate (ABD considered) in Personal Financial Planning, Family Economics,   Consumer Economics, Resource Management, or related fields; (b) demonstrated   content expertise to teach core classes in the Personal Financial Planning   program; (c) excellent research, data analysis, and grant writing skills; and   (d) ability to work effectively with undergraduate and graduate students in a   multidisciplinary environment.</p>
<p><b> PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: </b>Preference will be   given to candidates who (a) possess professional practice experience in the   financial planning/services profession; (b) hold a CFP® certificate or are   willing to obtain a CFP® designation; (c) have excellent on-line teaching   experience; (d) have an active research interest/agenda in financial behavior;   (e) experience teaching doctoral level research and statistic courses; and (f)   hold active membership in relevant professional organizations, such as the   Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education, Financial Planning   Association, American Council on Consumer Interests, Financial Therapy   Association, and similar organizations.</p>
<p><b> GENERAL INFORMATION: </b>Kansas State   University is a land grant institution with an enrollment of approximately   24,000 students in eight colleges and the graduate school. The College of Human   Ecology has 104 faculty serving approximately 2,400 students through three   departments and one School. The multidisciplinary School of Family Studies and   Human Services consists of 35 faculty, 700 undergraduate students, 180 master&rsquo;s   students, and 55 doctoral students.</p>
<p>  The Personal Financial Planning unit at   Kansas State University offers four programs (B.S., Certificate, M.S., and   Ph.D.) registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.   The graduate certificate program is a 14-month program of study consisting of   six eight-week, online courses. The Master&rsquo;s program is offered entirely online   in cooperation with eight universities through the Great Plains Interactive   Distance Education Alliance. The doctoral program is a hybrid program; students   take courses online during the fall and spring semesters, and participate in   10-day intensive courses on campus in August and an international experience in   their final summer.</p>

<p wrap="">RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidates will be expected to teach on campus and on-line courses as required for the CFP core curriculum in the Personal Financial Planning B.S., M.S., Ph.D., and graduate certificate programs. In addition, the successful candidates will (a) chair and serve on M.S. and doctoral committees; (b) conduct and publish research in refereed scholarly journals related to family and consumer financial behavior and related personal financial planning and financial therapy topics; (c) advise and mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students; (d) obtain external grant funding; (e) be available for August intensive doctoral on-campus courses; and (f) provide service to the unit, school, college and university.   </p>

        <![CDATA[<p wrap="">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who (a) possess professional practice experience in the financial planning/services profession; (b) hold a CFP® certificate or are willing to obtain a CFP® designation; (c) have excellent on-line teaching experience; (d) have an active research interest/agenda in financial behavior; (e) experience teaching doctoral level research and statistic courses; and (f) hold active membership in relevant professional organizations, such as the Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education, Financial Planning Association, American Council on Consumer Interests, Financial Therapy Association, and similar organizations.   </p>
<p wrap="">GENERAL INFORMATION: Kansas State University is a land grant institution with an enrollment of approximately 24,000 students in eight colleges and the graduate school. The College of Human Ecology has 104 faculty serving approximately 2,400 students through three departments and one School. The multidisciplinary School of Family Studies and Human Services consists of 35 faculty, 700 undergraduate students, 180 master&rsquo;s students, and 55 doctoral students.   The Personal Financial Planning unit at Kansas State University offers four programs (B.S., Certificate, M.S., and Ph.D.) registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. The graduate certificate program is a 14-month program of study consisting of six eight-week, online courses. The Master&rsquo;s program is offered entirely online in cooperation with eight universities through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance. The doctoral program is a hybrid program; students take courses online during the fall and spring semesters, and participate in 10-day intensive courses on campus in August and an international experience in their final summer. <p><b>Position:</b> Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is seeking candidates for the position of Dean of the College of Health and Human Services. The dean is responsible for providing leadership and overall management of the College including strategic planning; acting as the College's advocate within the university; support for instruction and research; personnel evaluations; preparation and management of budgets; support of faculty external grant writing; curriculum development; and fundraising. The position reports to the Provost, and has extensive collaborative relations with members of the Council of Deans, the Academic Affairs Council, the University Senate, and academic departments.</p><p>
The College has 139 faculty and 28 staff in nine academic departments (Criminology, Culinary Arts, Food and Nutrition, Health and Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Human Development and Environmental Studies (Family and Consumer Sciences Related Disciplines), Employment and Labor Relations, Nursing and Allied Health Professions, and Safety Sciences) that offer an array of undergraduate and graduate programs (including Ph.D. programs in Criminology, Nursing, and Safety Sciences) that serve nearly 5,000 students. Special facilities in the College include a Nursing Simulation Lab, the Allenwood Restaurant, the Child Development Laboratory, and specialized labs for several departments, including Food and Nutrition, Safety Sciences, Interior Design, Fashion Merchandising, and Health and Physical Education.         <![CDATA[<p><b>Qualifications:</b> Doctorate in a discipline or closely related discipline that resides in the College; ten years academic experience, including teaching, research, and service at a four-year college or university; an academic record of teaching and research sufficient to hold tenure and the rank of full professor in one of the academic disciplines of the college. Experience should include at least five years of progressive leadership in areas of academic administration at a university that includes strategic planning, budget preparation and management, and curriculum development; successful experience in external grant writing and fundraising/donor development.</p>
<p>  The successful candidate will ideally possess excellent knowledge of current issues and opportunities for enhancing the role of the College in research, teaching, and learning; ability to articulate a vision for a 21st century college of health and human services at a doctoral research university; a strong record in securing external grants; expertise in recognizing and enhancing faculty and student research support and initiatives; the ability to provide support and direction for all forms of scholarship (i.e., discovery, application, integration, and pedagogy); a commitment to the teacher-scholar model of higher education; ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty in supporting and expanding instructional and research programs; documented excellence in promoting the intellectual and academic development of a university&rsquo;s diverse undergraduate and graduate communities; expertise in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation; a high level of professionalism; excellent analytic, writing, and verbal skills.
