Tenure-Track Position in Child Development - Berea College

Berea College announces a tenure-track appointment in the Child and Family Studies Program (CFS) at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2016. The CFS Program offers three areas of concentration--child development, family studies, and nutrition and food studies. CFS majors have two capstone experiences--family resource management, which includes a significant practicum component--and a senior research seminar. The curriculum is designed so that students receive instruction from all CFS faculty. The CFS Program is in a division with three other academic programs--Health and Human Performance, Psychology, and Sociology--and the CFS major ranks consistently within the top five campus majors. This appointment offers diverse opportunities for team-teaching, collaboration, interdisciplinary, and cross-disciplinary engagement of undergraduates. The CFS Program has a well-established, long-standing presence on campus with state-of-the-art facilities that support specific programmatic needs, including the Boyd and Gaynell Fowler Child Development Laboratory (CDL), located in the Ecovillage. The CDL has recently been awarded accreditation by the NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation.
