Position: Assistant Professor, Family Studies, Position #: 1457 (beginning fall, 2014).

Qualifications: Doctorate in family studies or a closely related area or ABD with evidence of completion by August, 2104; certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) or eligible to apply within one year; demonstrated teaching record in family studies or closely related areas; evidence of research productivity and service activities; practitioner experience in family life education or related field.

Position: Assistant Professor, Dietetics, Position #: 8394 (beginning Fall, 2014).

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in human nutrition or closely related field with significant graduate coursework in human nutrition.  Must be a Registered Dietitian.  Evidence of successful teaching experience, research/scholarly activities, and experience with or promise of seeking external funding.  Strong classroom and interpersonal skills.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior practitioner experience.

Position: Assistant Professor, Family Studies/Child Life, Position #: 7435 (term position beginning fall, 2014).

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in family studies or a closely related area or ABD with evidence of completing the degree prior to starting date of August, 2104, certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) or eligible to apply within one year; demonstrated teaching record in family studies or related areas; evidence of research productivity, service activities, and practitioner experience in family life education or related field; and experience practicing as a Child Life Specialist and teaching Child Life courses.

Position: Assistant Professor, Interior Design, Position #: 1460 (Term position beginning Fall, 2014).

Qualifications: Earned MA, MS, MFA or doctorate in interior design or related field. NCIDQ certification and familiarity with CIDA accreditation standards. Evidence of successful college teaching experience and active engagement with related professional organizations. Strong classroom and interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to candidates with prior practitioner experience and LEED AP certification.

Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences. The position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track appointment to begin August 2014.

Candidates for the position must have an earned doctorate in fashion merchandising and design or closely related field; demonstrated ability to teach courses related to consumer textiles, apparel product design and development, marketing and distribution, fashion history, and supervision of internships in the fashion industry; and commitment to team work, scholarship, and professional involvement including attainment of the Certified in Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS) credential.
