The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) is seeking team-oriented candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics  (FND)  beginning  on August  16,  2014.The  anticipated  appointment  is  75% teaching and 25% research/scholarly activity.

Qualifications

Required: Applicants must have a Doctorate in Food, Food Science, Food Service Systems Management, Nutrition, or closely related field prior to March, 2015.  Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach several of the following courses: principles of food preparation, food science, food service management, food planning, marketing & cost control, and quantity foods, within a Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics program. Applicants must also demonstrate a record of or potential for research and publication in scholarly journals in the discipline.

Preferred: A broad background in food, food management, food systems and nutrition with expertise to teach in a range of areas at all levels of the curriculum.  Previous teaching experience, professional experience, current publication record, and R.D. status are preferred. Active participation in relevant academic or professional organizations such as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Foodservice Systems Management Education Council, or the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education, is also desired.
