Assistant Professor of Practice in Family Science
Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies

Position: The successful candidate for this position will have: (1) expertise in the study of family and in family and community services programming and administration; (2) excellent teaching skills; (3) experience with and aptitude toward teaching undergraduate and graduate courses online; and (4) the ability to collaborate with faculty in development of innovative educational programming.

This is a non-tenure track 9-month Assistant Professor of Practice position available Fall 2013. This position is based on a 3 year contract renewable upon acceptable performance.

Early Childhood Education Specialist/Assistant Professor
Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies

Position: This is a tenure-track, 12 month position with a 75% extension appointment and a 25% ARD appointment, with a focus on early childhood education, young children, families of young children, and the early learning environments for children birth to age 8.

The University of Hawai'i at Mānoa (UH Mānoa) seeks a faculty member for the position of Specialist at the Associate or Full rank for the Center on the Family (COF). This is a full-time, tenure-track, 11-month appointment, to begin May 1, 2013 or soon thereafter. The successful candidate may serve as Director of COF; however, appointment as Director is dependent upon the dean's approval and continuation is contingent upon satisfactory performance. As the Director, this faculty member will have an exciting opportunity to lead the Center to a stronger research and outreach presence in Hawai'i and the Asia Pacific region. Extension Personal and Family Finance Specialist

The University of Idaho Extension is seeking applicants for a tenure-track, assistant professor position as an Extension Specialist in Personal and Family Finance. This position will be based in Moscow or Boise, with responsibilities that address statewide priority needs.

Iowa State University, College of Human Sciences, Department of Human Development and Family Studies Openings

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for two tenured/tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, beginning August 2013. The areas of expertise are open but candidates whose research and teaching is in the area of research methodology (advanced quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods), life-span development, and family health are particularly encouraged to apply. The department seeks innovative and enthusiastic colleagues who will enhance synergies in the department, who are dedicated to high quality research and teaching, and who are interested in joining a dynamic multidisciplinary faculty. Position responsibilities include maintaining a strong program of research, seeking external funding, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising graduate students, and contributing to the university's land-grant mission.

The Department of Child Development and Family Relations (CDFR) within the College of Human Ecology invites applicants for the position of Department Chair. This is a twelve-month appointment to begin July 1, 2013. Review of applications will begin November 1, 2012, and continue until the position is filled.

The Department of Child Development and Family Relations is one of six departments in the College of Human Ecology. It has approximately 450 full-time students and 150 licensure only students enrolled in the undergraduate programs of Family and Community Services, Birth-Kindergarten teacher education, Family and Consumer Sciences education, and Child Life. An additional 90 students are enrolled in the Master's programs of Child Development and Family Relations, Birth-Kindergarten teacher education, Family and Consumer Sciences education, Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Ph.D. in Medical Family Therapy.
