We are seeking a visionary and experienced professional to serve as chair of the Department of Food and Nutrition at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. This position is a nine-month appointment: one-third time as department chair and the remaining percent time as faculty with responsibilities for teaching, research and service. The initial appointment as chair will be for three years with re-appointment based on recommendation of the faculty. Summer appointment as chair is negotiable and teaching opportunities are available. A three-year appointment as the Distinguished Steenbock Endowed Chair in Food and Nutrition is available for candidates demonstrating the professional background and experience to merit this appointment.

The Department of Consumer Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks candidates to fill a faculty position in household finance. We are seeking a candidate for a tenured or tenure track position to begin autumn semester 2012.
Candidates must demonstrate an active research program with strong potential for external funding and have a research track record related to household financial decision making. Experience working directly with families in the community, and collaborations with community-based family service programs are desirable. A degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or similar program is desirable. Evidence of effective teaching experience is desirable. Experience in student advisement, especially advising students interested in pursuing a post-baccalaureate program in marriage and family therapy, school counseling/psychology, or social work is desirable. Grant writing experience is also desirable. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. Experience with online teaching and instructional technology is highly desirable.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess an earned PhD in Human Nutrition or closely related discipline. ABD candidates will be considered but must have a doctorate before August 22, 2012. Some experience in teaching nutrition, food service and basic food science courses at the college or university level. Must be a Registered Dietitian with an active membership in American Dietetic Association required. Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or similar program preferred. Experience in clinical practice, supervisorial roles, research, publications and extramural funding is preferred. Experience in student advisement is desirable.
