Consumer Affairs
The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Consumer Science in the School of Human Ecology is recruiting for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.

Requires Ph.D. in Psychology, Consumer Behavior, Retailing/Merchandising, Marketing, Advertising, or related area. Preferred: Specialization in areas related to consumer socialization and impact of advertising on consumers, particularly children. The ideal candidate will have a background that spans psychology and business, and will bring an explicitly consumer orientation to his/her research.

The Department of Agricultural and Consumer Sciences (ACS) at Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in Child and Family Studies. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Child Development, Family Studies, or a related field. The department supports an ecological perspective on early childhood education and the family life cycle, and seeks a candidate whose on-going research and teaching will strengthen the main area of focus: development in context, particularly with children and families. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of multiple methods of scholarship in the areas of child and family studies. Successful candidates will demonstrate willingness and capability to cooperate with and serve as a resource for the Child Development Center director, assistant director, and employees. Although based on the Stephenville campus, the successful candidate will have responsibilities in off campus and online locations to build and maintain relationships with community college child development programs. In support of Tarleton's "Keeping it R.E.A.L." initiative, this person will provide internship supervision for students during their senior-level capstone experiences. Although not required, candidates with a demonstrated background in teacher education related to the Family and Consumer Sciences' secondary area are highly desirable.
