Tarleton State University
The Department of Agricultural and Consumer Sciences (ACS) at Tarleton State University,
Stephenville, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in
Child and Family Studies. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Child Development,
Family Studies, or a related field. The department supports an ecological perspective on early
childhood education and the family life cycle, and seeks a candidate whose on-going research

children and families. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate a sophisticated
understanding of multiple methods of scholarship in the areas of child and family studies.
Successful candidates will demonstrate willingness and capability to cooperate with and serve as
a resource for the Child Development Center director, assistant director, and employees.

in off campus and online locations to build and maintain relationships with community college
child development programs. In support of Tarleton's "Keeping it R.E.A.L." initiative, this
person will provide internship supervision for students during their senior-level capstone
experiences. Although not required, candidates with a demonstrated background in teacher
education related to the Family and Consumer Sciences' secondary area are highly desirable.

the position should submit a cover letter, vitae, transcript copies, and the names and contact
information for three professional references to Tarleton Connection from the Tarleton State
