Robert O. Herrmann Outstanding Dissertation Award

Purpose

Identify and recognize outstanding graduate student research that addresses issues relevant to the well-being of consumers and meets the research guidelines of The Journal of Consumer Affairs.

Submission Criteria

The research may:

Focus on consumer policy, consumer economics, consumer behavior, and/or consumer educationBe theoretical, empirical, philosophical, and/or historical in perspective

The research must:

Have clear implications for government, households, and/or business Clearly focus on consumer well-beingHave been completed and approved no more than two years prior to its submission to the award committeePrior presentation or publication of any aspect of the research shall not affect eligibility.

Award

A plaque and complimentary registration to the ACCI Annual Conference is provided (http://www.consumerinterests.org/Conference.html).

Submission Requirements

Submit a Dissertation/Thesis Summary and a Statement of Dissertaion/ Thesis Completion to the chair by e-mail

([email protected]) by January 15, 2013

Summary shall be no more than five double-spaced pages in length and will include the objectives, methodology, and major findings.Statement of Completion should include (i) the date the dissertation or thesis was completed and approved,

(ii) whether the dissertation/thesis is available electronically and if so, how (e-mail file, website, etc.), (iii) major professor's name and (iv) student contact information (e-mail address, mailing address and telephone and fax numbers).
